Cam Chain TENSIONER Arm

REMOVAL 

1. Remove the timing chain cover. Refer to COVER(S), ENGINE TIMING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

2. Use the cam chain tensioner arm to push in the tensioner piston (1a) and insert the (special tool #8514A, Pins, Tensioner) (1b) to hold the tensioner piston in the retracted position.

3. Remove the screw (1a) and remove the cam chain tensioner arm (1b).

INSTALLATION 

1. Remove all sealant residues.

2. Install the cam chain tensioner arm (1a) and tighten the screw (1b) to the proper specification Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
3. Hold the cam chain tensioner arm against the tensioner piston, remove the lock pin and release the tensioner arm.
4. Install the timing chain cover. Refer to COVER(S), ENGINE TIMING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
5. If removed, install the oil filter and fill the engine crankcase with the proper oil to the correct level. Refer to OIL, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
6. Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check cooling system for correct fluid level. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
