Front Axle

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Remove the front drive shaft. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
3. Remove the front half shafts. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

4. Remove the bracket bolts (1a) and remove the bracket (1b).

5. Remove the front axle bolts (1a) and remove the front axle (1b).
6. Inspect the alignment dowel (1d) and the vent hose (1c) and replace as necessary.

7. Inspect the driveshaft bushing (1) and replace as necessary.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the front axle (1a), the front axle bolts (1b) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

2. Install the bracket (1b), the bracket bolts (1a) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
3. Install the front half shafts. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
4. Install the front drive shaft. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
5. Check the front axle fluid level and add as necessary. Refer to FLUID, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
6. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
