Right Hand (RH) Front Half Shaft

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly (Refer to 22 - Tires and Wheels/Tires/Removal and Installation).

3. With the tool 1870815000 (1a) remove and DISCARD  the axle nut (1b) fixing the right front driveshaft to the wheel hub.
4. Remove the strut assembly. Refer to STRUT, SUSPENSION, ASSEMBLY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

5. Using a suitable tool, disconnect the right front driveshaft (1a) from the wheel hub (1b).

6. With a suitable tool, remove the right front halfshaft (1) from the front differential then remove it from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the right front halfshaft (1) in the front axle.

2. Place the outboard end of the axle (1a) into the wheel hub (1b).
3. Install the strut assembly. Refer to STRUT, SUSPENSION, ASSEMBLY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

4. Fit the 1870815000 tool (1a) and install and tighten a NEW  hub nut (1b) to the proper specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
5. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly (Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
6. Check the front axle fluid level and add as necessary. Refer to FLUID, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
7. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
