Removal And Installation: Installation

NOTE:

Replacement of the O-ring seal is required anytime an A/C pressure transducer is removed. Failure to replace the rubber O-ring seal may result in a refrigerant system leak.

  1. Lubricate a new rubber O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil and install it onto the fitting.
    NOTE:

    Use only the specified O-ring seal as it is made of special material for the refrigerant used in the system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type required for the A/C compressor.

  2. Install the pressure transducer (1) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Connect the pressure transducer wire harness connector (2).
  4. Install the left air cleaner outlet tube. Refer to 2.0L, BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or 2.8L, BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  6. Evacuate the refrigerant system. Refer to PLUMBING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  7. Charge the refrigerant system. Refer to PLUMBING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
