Description And Operation
The Air Quality Sensor (AQS) is an electronic device that is designed to send an opening/closing control signal to the recirculation door actuator when the outside air pollution index exceeds pre-set harmful levels to prevent polluted air from being introduced into the passenger compartment and it is installed in the outside air intake.
It is possible, through the use of a special sensitive element, to detect the presence, in the air surrounding the vehicle, of oxidizing pollutant particles (e.g. CO) or reducing agents (e.g. NOx). The sensor produces a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signal within a few seconds from when it is first supplied.
