Diagnostic Test

CHECK ENGINE OILING SYSTEM FOR LEAKS
1. Visually inspect for leaks in the engine oiling system.
  Are there any leaks?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the leaks as necessary and restore correct operation.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 2
CHECK THE ENGINE OIL PRESSURE AND ENGINE MECHANICAL CONDITION
1. Install an oil pressure gauge and check the engine oil pressure in accordance with the Service Information.
2. Check the engine oil pressure/mechanical condition (i.e. proper oil drain back, oil sludge, etc.)
  NOTE:
  With the scan tool, compare the engine oil pressure reading on the gauge with the scan tool reading at different engine speeds. Compare the pressure reading on the scan tool to what the gauge displays.
  
  Does the oil pressure meet specifications and match the scan tool?
  
  Meets specification but does not match scan tool
  - Perform the diagnostic procedure for P0521-ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR PERFORMANCE.
  Below specification
  - Repair the condition causing the oil pressure issue.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
