2.9L - Right Cylinder Head Intake Or Exhaust

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the pressurized coolant bottle. Refer to BOTTLE, PRESSURIZED COOLANT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

3. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) from the VVT solenoid.
4. Remove the screw (2a).
5. Remove the VVA solenoid (2b) complete with O-ring (2c).

INSTALLATION 

1. Remove the old o-ring and install a new o-ring to the VVT solenoid.

2. Place the VVT solenoid complete with new o-ring to its housing (1a) and tighten the retaining screw (1b) to the proper specification.. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
3. Connect the wiring harness connector (2) to the VVT solenoid.
4. Install the pressurized coolant bottle. Refer to BOTTLE, PRESSURIZED COOLANT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. If the VVT solenoid was replaced, connect the diagnostic scan tool, navigate to "ECM" in the "Miscellaneous functions" menu and start the "Reset adaptive parameters" routine.
