Charge Air Cooler Temperature Control Solenoid Valve

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the turbocharger cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING THE TURBOCHARGER COOLING SYSTEM  .
3. Remove the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

4. Remove the return hose quick coupling (1) to the radiator.

5. Remove the supply hose quick coupling (1) to the radiator return hose.

6. Disconnect the charge air cooler temperature control solenoid valve wire harness connector (1).
7. Release the clip (2) and remove the water supply pipe to the Charge Air Cooler (CAC).

8. Remove the left CAC water supply hose quick connector and position it aside.

9. Remove the left CAC coolant return hose quick connector (1).

10. Remove the upper and lower bolts securing the solenoid valve to the body.

11. Remove the CAC temperature control solenoid valve (1), complete with bracket and pipes.

12. Remove the bolts (1a) and bracket (1b) from the locating pins.

13. Remove the clamp and CAC water return hose (1).

14. Remove the clamp and radiator supply hose (1).
15. Remove the clamp and supply hose to the radiator return hose (2).

INSTALLATION 

1. Install the supply hose to the radiator return pipe and secure with clamp.
2. Install the supply hose to the radiator and secure with clamp.
3. Install the water return hose to the CAC and secure with clamp.
4. Position bracket on the locating pins, and install and tighten the bolts.
5. Install the CAC temperature control solenoid valve complete with bracket and hoses.
6. Install the upper and lower bolts securing the solenoid valve and securely tighten.
7. Install the left CAC coolant return hose quick connector.
8. Install the CAC water supply hose quick coupling and secure the retaining clip.
9. Connect the CAC temperature control solenoid valve wire harness connector.
10. Install the quick coupling for the supply hose to the radiator return hose.
11. Install the quick coupling for the water supply hose to the radiator.
12. Install the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
13. Fill the turbocharger cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING THE TURBOCHARGER COOLING SYSTEM  .
14. Connect the negative battery cable.
