Removal And Installation: 2.0L

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the engine belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

3. Remove the retaining screw (1) and the ground lead.
4. Remove the screw (2) and reposition the transmission cooler line.

5. Release the B+ wiring harness protection cover (1).
6. Remove the B+ wiring harness retaining nut.
7. Disconnect the B+ wiring harness connection.

8. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) from the starter motor.

9. Remove the starter motor retaining bolts (1a).
10. Remove the starter motor assembly (1b).

INSTALLATION 

1. Inspect the starter motor and the wiring harness connector integrity.

2. Install the starter motor (1a) and align the centering bushing.
3. Install the starter motor retaining bolts (1b) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
4. Connect the wiring harness connector to the starter motor.
5. Connect the B+ wiring harness to the starter motor.
6. Close the B+ wiring harness protection cover.
7. Secure the transmission cooler lines and tighten the screw.
8. Install the ground lead and tighten the screw.
9. Install the engine belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
10. Connect the negative battery cable.
