Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Open the cup holder and remove the cigarette lighter.
3. Engage the (special tool #9857, Remover, Power Outlet) tool (1a), in the recesses (1b) of the cigarette lighter seat (1c) the carefully extract the cigarette lighter seat itself. When removing the cigarette lighter socket (1c) its ridge (1d) must slide in the slot of the housing (1e).
4. Disconnect the cigarette lighter wire harness connector (2a) and remove the cigarette lighter.

5. If necessary, release the retainers (1a) and remove the ring (1b). Note the position of the tooth (1c) in the housing (1d).

INSTALLATION 

1. Inspect the cigar lighter seat for damage.

2. If removed, install the ring (1a) engaging the tooth (1b) into the slot (1c) and the retainers (1d).

3. Connect the wire harness connector (1a) and install the cigarette lighter (2a). Align the ridge (2a) into the slot (2c).
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
