Removal And Installation: Installation

NOTE:

Installation process similar for both sides of the vehicle.

Position a NEW O-ring (1) on the parking brake caliper body.

Place the gear motor (1b) in its housing and install NEW gear motor mounting bolts (1a) and tighten the bolts to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

Place the pads (2c) in their housings on the caliper body, engage the spring (2b) and insert the pins (2a).
Engage the pin retaining split pins (1).

Position the electric parking brake caliper (1a) in its housing and tighten the NEW mounting bolts (1b) to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Connect the electrical harness connector at the gear motor.
Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
NOTE:
Connect the scan tool to the vehicle, select ABS "miscellaneous functions", select "Electric Park Brake (EPB)" then start the "ASSEMBLY CHECK" procedure.
