Removal And Installation: Removal

1. Lower the window to the end of travel position.
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the exterior mirror. Refer to MIRROR, OUTSIDE REARVIEW, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  Refer to, MIRROR, OUTSIDE REARVIEW, COVER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
4. Remove the seal (1a) for the exterior rear view mirror.
5. Apply a double layer of adhesive bodywork tape (2a) to the door along the lower edge of the exterior belt molding (2b).
6. Raise the exterior belt molding (2b) starting from the rear edge (3a), releasing it from its various retainers (3b) with the special tool.
7. If the belt molding is to be used again, take care not to distort it.
8. Retrieve the exterior belt molding (2b).

INSTALLATION

1. Position the exterior belt molding (1a) then fit it in its housing gradually and carefully to avoid damaging it, engaging the retainers (1b).
2. Remove the adhesive bodywork tape.
3. Install the exterior mirror. Refer to MIRROR, OUTSIDE REARVIEW, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  Refer to, MIRROR, OUTSIDE REARVIEW, COVER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
5. Move the door window to check that the belt molding is working.
