Removal And Installation: Removal

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the rear carrier plate. Refer to PLATE, CARRIER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
3. Working on the carrier plate, release the control cable (1c) retainers (1a) and then (1b) from the latch.
4. Release the two retainers (2a) and remove the handle mounting (2b), releasing it from the wiring (2c).
5. If necessary, release the retainers (3a) and then (3b) from the handle mounting (2b) and remove the control cable (1c).

INSTALLATION

1. If removed, engage the control cable (1d) retainers (1b) and then (1c) on the handle mounting (1a).
2. Engage the handle mounting (1a) with the wiring (2a), then position it in its seat and engage its retainers (2b).
3. Engage the control cable (1d) retainers (3a) and then (3b) on the latch.
4. Install the rear carrier plate. Refer to PLATE, CARRIER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
