Sunroof Front Panel: Removal

Remove the front sunroof glass. Refer to GLASS, SUNROOF, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION Refer to, GLASS, SUNROOF, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Lift and remove the front sunroof seal (1a) and discard. Do not reuse the front sunroof seal.
Remove the front seats. Refer to SEAT, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
NOTE:
Cover the interior to protect the interior. Tape the roof opening to protect the paint.

Use a drill and saw to remove a center section (1a) of the front panel (1b) to allow access to the perimeter bead of sealant (1c).
Working from the opening (1a), use a vibrating knife (2a) with blade (2b) to cut the bead of sealant (1c). Take care not to damage the sunroof frame or the windscreen.
When the bead of sealant (1c) has been cut, remove the front panel (1b).
