WARNING:
Disable the airbag system before attempting any component diagnosis or service of the front seats, when equipped with front seat side air bags. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.
- Remove the headrest.
- Push down on the cushion to expose the retaining tab (1b).
- Using a small flat bladed tool, push on the retaining tab and pull out the headrest sleeve (1a).
