Removal And Installation: Removal

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the door speaker. Refer to SPEAKER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
3. Remove the screw (1a) securing the check strap (1b) to the body.
4. Release the seal (2a).
5. Remove the nuts (3a) attaching the check strap (1b) to the door.
6. Remove the check strap (1b) from the speaker housing.

INSTALLATION

1. Insert the check strap (1a) in the speaker housing.
2. Tighten the nuts (2a) fastening the check strap (1a) to the door to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
3. Engage the seal (3a).
4. Tighten the screw (4a) fastening the check strap (1a) to the body to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
5. Check the operation of the check strap.
6. Install the door speaker. Refer to SPEAKER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
7. Connect the negative battery cable.
