Removal And Installation: Removal

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the carrier plate. Refer to PLATE, CARRIER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
3. Working on the carrier plate, release the control cable (1d) retainers (1b) and then (1c) from the latch (1a).

4. Move the latch (1a), disconnecting it from the retainers (1b).
5. Disconnect the wire harness connector (2a) of the latch.

6. Turn over the carrier plate, then release and open the latch (1b) cover (1a).
7. Release the control cable (2c) retainers (2a) and then (2b) from the interior handle.
8. Remove the latch (1b).
9. If necessary, release the bulkhead seal (4a) and remove the control cable (2c).

INSTALLATION

1. If removed, position the control cable (1a) and engage the bulkhead seal (1b).
2. Position the latch (2a) and engage the control cable (1a) retainers (2b) and then (2c).
3. Close the latch (2a) cover (3a) and engage it.

4. Turn over the carrier plate, then connect the latch (1b) wire harness connector (1a).
5. Position the latch (1b) and engage it on the retainers (2a).

6. Engage the control cable (1d) retainers (1c) and then (1b) on the latch (1a).
7. Install the carrier plate. Refer to PLATE, CARRIER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
