Bus Voltage

The voltage levels of the three CAN networks can be measured directly on the Data Link Connector (DLC), using the multimeter in Ohm's mode.

NOTE:

The indicated voltage values were measured directly on a pre-production vehicle. Although the values are valid, a tolerance of approx. 10% should be considered.

The CAN-C, CAN-CH and CAN-IHS networks enter Sleep mode approximately 10 to 12 seconds after the key is turned to OFF.

The networks "wake up" with the key at OFF when one of the vehicle's doors state change from "Closed" status to "Open" status.

The CAN-C, CAN-CH and CAN-IHS networks have 120Ω terminal resistors. When the network which interconnects the two terminal resistors is electrically uninterrupted, the value read on the display is approximately 60Ω for all three networks.

This type of measurement determines the electric continuity of the main network branch which interconnects the two terminal resistors only (see figure). Considering that there are many branches connected in parallel to the main branch in these networks, continuity of the latter must be measured locally (one branch at a time).
