Theory Of Operation
The Camera is activated when the ignition switch is in the RUN position. The Fused Run Relay Output circuit supplies power to the camera. The camera sends a video signal (std. NTSC i.e. TV) to the Radio (RRM), using circuits (X970) camera signal, (X971) signal return and (X972) camera sheild, which displays on the Radio screen or Rear View Mirror. The screen toggles functions displaying only one kind of image at a time. And in reverse, the rear camera has priority. The Lin bus circuit going to the rear camera provides rear back-up grid movement based on Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) bussed input to the BCM. The Lin bus going to the Rear View Mirror sends a Reverse gear status message to turn the screen on in the Rear View Mirror.
