Test P1464: A/C Demand Out Of Self-Test Range

NOTE: This DTC will set if A/C switch is turned ON while performing PCM self-diagnostic test.
  1. Ensure A/C switch is off. Turn ignition on. Using New Generation Star (NGS) tester, perform PCM self-diagnostics test. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If DTC P1464 exists, go to next step. If DTC P1464 does not exist, system is operating properly at this time.
  2. Ensure A/C and defroster are off. Turn ignition on. Perform PCM Parameter Identification A/C Cycling Switch (PID ACCS) input test. If PID ACCS reads ON, go to TEST K: A/C ALWAYS ON . If PID ACCS does not read ON, ACCS input to PCM is low. Verify test results. Repeat self-diagnostic test where code was received.
