Right Charge Air Water Cooler

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the right throttle body air inlet hose. Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the right air cleaner outlet tube. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove the right air bypass solenoid. Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Remove the right turbocharger air inlet tube. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Remove the right air hose between turbocharger and charge air water cooler. Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Drain the turbocharger cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING THE TURBOCHARGER COOLING SYSTEM .

  9. Remove the lower bolt securing the right turbocharger charge air water cooler to the support frame.

  10. Open the retaining clip (1a), disconnect the quick connector and remove the air tube between the charge air water cooler and the right turbocharger intake (1b).

  11. Disconnect the air temperature/pressure sensor wire harness connector (1).
  12. Loosen the clamp (2) and disconnect the degassing tube from the right charger air water cooler.

  13. Release the clip and disconnect the coolant outlet hose quick connector (1) from the right charger air water cooler.

  14. Release the clip and disconnect the coolant inlet hose quick connector (1) to the right charger air water cooler.

  15. Remove the upper bolts (1) securing the right charger air water cooler (2) to the support frame.
  16. Remove the right charger air water cooler (2).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Install the right charge air water cooler and securely tighten the upper bolts to the support frame.
  2. Install the right charge air water cooler coolant inlet hose, connect the quick connector and close the retaining clip.
  3. Install the right charge air water cooler coolant outlet pipe, connect the quick connector and close the retaining clip.
  4. Connect the degassing tube to the right charger air water cooler and secure the clamp.
  5. Connect the air temperature/pressure sensor wire harness connector.
  6. Install the air tube between the right charge air water cooler and the right turbocharger supply, connect the quick connector and close the retaining clip.
  7. Install the right lower charger air water cooler bolt to the support frame and securely tighten.
  8. Install the right air hose between turbocharger and charge air water cooler. Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  9. Install the right turbocharger air inlet tube. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  10. Install the right air bypass solenoid. Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  11. Install the right air cleaner outlet tube. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  12. Install the right throttle body air inlet hose. Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  13. Fill the turbocharger cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING THE TURBOCHARGER COOLING SYSTEM .
  14. Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
