Left Charge Air Water Cooler

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the left throttle body air inlet hose. Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the left air cleaner outlet tube. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the left air bypass solenoid. Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove the left turbocharger air inlet tube. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Remove the left air hose between turbocharger and charge air water cooler. Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Drain the turbocharger cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING THE TURBOCHARGER COOLING SYSTEM .

  8. Remove the lower bolt (1) securing the left turbocharger air/coolant heat exchanger to the support frame.

  9. Open the retaining clip (1a), disconnect the quick coupling and remove the air tube between the charge air water cooler and the left turbocharger intake (1b).

  10. Disconnect the air temperature/pressure sensor wire harness connector (1).

  11. Loosen the clamp (1) and disconnect the degassing tube from the left charger air water cooler.

  12. Remove the bolt (1) and the pipe retainer bracket.
  13. Open the clip and disconnect the coolant outlet hose quick connector (2) from the left charge air water cooler.

  14. Open the clip and disconnect the coolant inlet hose quick connector (1) to the left charge air water cooler.

  15. Remove the upper bolts (1) securing the left charge air water cooler (2) to the support frame.
  16. Remove the left charger air water cooler (2).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Install the left charge air water cooler and securely tighten the upper bolts to the support frame.
  2. Install the left charge air water cooler coolant inlet hose, connect the quick connector and close the retaining clip
  3. Install the left charge air water cooler coolant outlet pipe, connect the quick connector and close the retaining clip.
  4. Install the pipe retaining bracket and securely tighten the bolt.
  5. Connect the degassing tube to the left charger air water cooler and close the clamp.
  6. Connect the air temperature/pressure sensor wire harness connector.
  7. Install the air tube between the left charge air water cooler and the right turbocharger supply, connect the quick connector and close the retaining clip.
  8. Install the left lower charger air water cooler bolt to the support frame and securely tighten.
  9. Install the left air hose between turbocharger and charge air water cooler. Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  10. Install the left turbocharger air inlet tube. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  11. Install the left air bypass solenoid. Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  12. Install the left air cleaner outlet tube. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  13. Install the left throttle body air inlet hose. Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  14. Fill the turbocharger cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING THE TURBOCHARGER COOLING SYSTEM .
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
