Right Hand (RH) Axle Seal

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Remove the Right Hand (RH) half shaft. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

3. Using (special tool #C-637, Slide Hammer, Universal) (1b) and (special tool #6790, Tool, Trac-Lok Torque) (1a) or equivalent adapter, remove the Rear Drive Unit (RDU) half shaft flange (1a).

4. Remove the O-ring seal (a).

5. Using a suitable tool, remove and discard the RH axle seal (1).

INSTALLATION

1. Position the NEW  RH axle seal in place and using special tool (special tool #2030600030, Installer, Differential Output Seal) (1a), (special tool #C-4171, Driver Handle, Universal)-1 and (special tool #C-4171, Driver Handle, Universal)-4 (1b), install the NEW  axle seal.

2. Install a NEW  O-ring seal (a).

3. Install the RDU half shaft flange (1).
4. Install the RH half shaft. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
5. If equipped with a standard rear axle, check the rear axle fluid and fill as needed. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
6. If equipped with a Rear Drive Unit (RDU) check the fluid level and add as needed. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  orREAR DRIVE UNIT (RDU) LEFT BODY FLUID DRAIN AND FILL  or REAR DRIVE UNIT (RDU) RIGHT BODY FLUID DRAIN AND FILL  .
7. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
