Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

LEFT HAND (LH) OR RIGHT HAND (RH) 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
3. Drain the LH or RH Rear Drive Unit (RDU) body. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  orREAR DRIVE UNIT (RDU) LEFT BODY FLUID DRAIN AND FILL  or REAR DRIVE UNIT (RDU) RIGHT BODY FLUID DRAIN AND FILL  .

4. Disconnect the differential oil temperature sensor wire harness connector (1).
5. Remove the differential oil temperature sensor (2).

INSTALLATION 

LEFT HAND (LH) OR RIGHT HAND (RH)

1. Install the differential oil temperature sensor (2) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
2. Connect the differential oil temperature sensor wire harness connector (1).
3. Fill the LH or RH Rear Drive Unit (RDU) body. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  orREAR DRIVE UNIT (RDU) LEFT BODY FLUID DRAIN AND FILL  or REAR DRIVE UNIT (RDU) RIGHT BODY FLUID DRAIN AND FILL  .
4. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
