Removal And Installation: Thermostat

REMOVAL 

  1. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Remove the front bumper. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING THE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM  .
  5. Remove the left throttle body. Refer to THROTTLE BODY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  6. Remove the quick connector (1a) and position the engine oil vapor supply hose (1b) aside.

  7. Remove the clamp and coolant hose (1).
  8. Remove the bolts (2a) and thermostat (2b) complete with O-ring (2c).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Using a NEW  O-ring, install the thermostat in its housing and securely tighten the bolts.
  2. Install the coolant hose clamp and hose to the thermostat housing and tighten the clamp.
  3. Install the engine oil vapor supply hose quick connector.
  4. Install the left throttle body. Refer to THROTTLE BODY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Fill the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING THE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM  .
  6. Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Install the front bumper. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, REAR SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
