Diagnostic Test

- CHECK CONNECTION BETWEEN TCM AND PCM-1
- Check for loose, damaged or corroded connections on the TCM or on the PCM-1.
Are there any loose or damaged connections?
Yes
- Repair the wiring connections as necessary.
No
- Go To 2
- Check for loose, damaged or corroded connections on the TCM or on the PCM-1.
- CHECK CAN LINE WIRING BETWEEN TCM AND PCM-1
- Check the wiring for an open circuit or high resistance of the CAN line between the TCM and the PCM-1.
Is there a high resistance or open condition in the wiring?
Yes
- Repair the open circuit or high resistance in the wiring.
No
- Go To 3
- Check the wiring for an open circuit or high resistance of the CAN line between the TCM and the PCM-1.
- CHECK CAN LINE WIRING BETWEEN TCM AND PCM-1
- Check the wiring for a short circuit in the CAN line between the TCM and the PCM-1.
Is there a short circuit in the wiring?
Yes
- Repair the short circuit in the wiring.
No
- Go To 4
- Check the wiring for a short circuit in the CAN line between the TCM and the PCM-1.
- CHECK TCM OPERATION
- Check that the TCM is working properly.
Is the TCM operating properly?
Yes
- Go To 5
No
- Replace the TCM.
- Check that the TCM is working properly.
- CHECK FUNCTIONING OF THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
- Check that the automatic transmission is working properly.
Automatic transmission not operating correctly
Yes
- End of diagnosis.
No
- Replace the automatic transmission.
- Check that the automatic transmission is working properly.
