The Powertrain Control Module 1 (PCM-1) detects that the Intake Camshaft is not at lock pin during engine start.
- When this fault occurs, the engine will usually make a rattling noise during engine start up. This happens when the Cam Phaser is oscillating on and off lock pin during engine start and will continue until the oscillation in the phaser stops.
