Left Hand (LH) Axle Seal

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Remove the Left Hand (LH) half shaft. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

3. Using a suitable tool, remove and discard the LH axle seal (1).

INSTALLATION

1. Position the NEW  LH axle seal in place and using special tool (special tool #2030700030, Differential oil seal installer left) (1a) and (special tool #C-4171, Driver Handle, Universal)and (special tool #C-4171-4, Extension, Drive Handle) (1b), install the axle seal.
2. Install the LH half shaft. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
3. If equipped with a standard rear axle, check the rear axle fluid and fill as needed. Refer to REAR AXLE FLUID DRAIN AND FILL  .
4. If equipped with a Rear Drive Unit (RDU) check the fluid level and add as needed. Refer to REAR DRIVE UNIT MAIN BODY FLUID DRAIN AND FILL Refer to, REAR DRIVE UNIT (RDU) LEFT BODY FLUID DRAIN AND FILL Refer to REAR DRIVE UNIT (RDU) RIGHT BODY FLUID DRAIN AND FILL .
5. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
